Environmentally Sustainable Systems Ltd. (ESS, trading as ESS Ecology) has been working onshore and offshore since 1995 and 2001 respectively. During these periods, the Company’s management systems have been constantly evolving to match the demands of our projects, clients and industry regulators. Our early involvement with initiatives such as the Renewable UK Lessons Learned Database and Offshore Marine Energy Health & Safety Accord have further reinforced the Company’s safety culture, expert knowledge and project management capabilities.
ESS has always maintained its position as an industry leader with respect to QHSE, and in November 2012 these management systems were externally accredited to three international standards; ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) and OHSAS 18001 (Health & Safety). The audit was carried out by independent certification body Alcumus ISOQAR, and included detailed annual audits of processes and documentation at ESS’s office, as well as site visits to observe the Company’s QHSE systems being applied in the field.
Following this, ESS achieved Achilles Utilities Vendor Data Base (UVDB) scores which are among the very highest pre-qualification scores in the ecological consultancy sector. The following scores are averages for site and office-based management system evaluation:
Health & Safety: 99.45%
Together, these accreditations confirm through external audit ESS as operating to the very highest standards and we look forward to further evolving and continuously improving our management systems i in response to new projects, challenges and work systems in the UK and abroad.
On the back of these successes Environmentally Sustainable Systems Ltd. are planning to offer consultancy services to assist other companies in developing their QHSE management systems to approach similarly high standards of achievement and accreditation.
