ESS Ecology is proud to have received Cycling Scotland’s Cycle Friendly Employer Award. Over half of its employees ride to work, reducing their carbon footprint, enjoying health benefits, and adding to corporate social responsibility. Economic incentives offered by the company to staff have included a cycling work mileage payment, assistance and tax relief with the costs of buying bicycles and equipment under the Cycle to Work scheme, and free servicing bicycles under the Dr. Bike scheme. This award also recognises ESS’s effort to encourage others to ride, and helping to change people’s behaviour in reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change.
Press release from the Bike Station:
Edinburgh based ESS Ecology has recently been designated as a Cycle Friendly Employer by Cycling Scotland. The award recognises the work that has taken place to encourage their staff to make more environmentally friendly and health-conscious travel choices. Wendy Graham, Edinburgh’s Cycle Friendly Employer co-ordinator, said “Staff at ESS Ecology are fully supported and encouraged to cycle to work with a host of pro-cycling facilities, services and policies that make cycling to work an attractive and feasible option. As such we are proud to formally honour the effort and hard work which has gone in to cycle promotion at ESS Ecology with the nationally recognised Cycle Friendly Employer Award”.
